How is juglans regia oil made?
The production process of refined walnut oil starts with pressing the walnuts. The oil obtained during this process is still unrefined and contains natural impurities. To remove these, the oil is refined. This refining process consists of several steps, including degumming, neutralization, bleaching and deodorization. During degumming, unwanted substances such as phospholipids are removed. Then, free fatty acids are neutralized to make the oil less acidic. During the bleaching phase, colorants are removed and finally, deodorization ensures that the oil has a neutral odor. The result is a pure, light oil that is suitable for various applications.
