How is Sulfated Castor Oil made?
The production of Sulfated Castor Oil starts with natural castor oil, which is treated with sulfuric acid. This chemical process introduces sulfate groups into the oil, enhancing its water solubility and surface-active properties.
The function of Sulfated Castor Oil
Thanks to its powerful emulsifying and wetting capabilities, Turkey Red Oil is often used as a dispersing agent and stabilizer. It improves moisture absorption in textiles and leather and provides a softening and foam-boosting effect in skincare products. In bath oils, it also prevents the oily residue from sticking to the tub.
