What is Heliwet FA 24/3?
Heliwet FA 24/3 is a non-ionic surfactant with the INCI name Laureth-3. The product consists of fatty alcohols with a carbon chain length of C12–C14, ethoxylated with 3 moles of ethylene oxide. Its HLB value of 8 makes it suitable for promoting emulsification in water-in-oil systems or as a mild wetting agent.

How is Heliwet FA 24/3 produced?
Heliwet FA 24/3 is produced through a controlled ethoxylation process, in which fatty alcohols react with ethylene oxide. In this case, 3 moles of ethylene oxide (EO) are added per mole of fatty alcohol, resulting in a non-ionic molecule with a balanced distribution between hydrophilic and lipophilic properties.
Function of Laureth-3
Laureth-3 functions as a mild emulsifier and dispersing agent. It aids in the formation and stabilization of emulsions, enhances the wetting of solid materials, and improves ingredient compatibility in complex formulations. Additionally, it provides skin-friendly mildness, making it suitable for cosmetic applications.
