Heliwet FA 10/3 is a non-ionic surfactant with the INCI name Isodeceth-3. It is composed of an isodecyl fatty alcohol ethoxylated with 3 moles of ethylene oxide units. How is Heliwet FA 10/3 produced?
Heliwet FA 10/3 is produced through the controlled ethoxylation of isodecyl alcohol with 3 moles of ethylene oxide. This reaction results in a molecule with a relatively short polyethylene glycol chain, yielding a surfactant with moderate water solubility and good compatibility with other emulsifiers.
Function of Isodeceth-3
Isodeceth-3 functions as an emulsifier, wetting agent, and solubilizer. Thanks to its balanced HLB value, it helps stabilize emulsions and improves the distribution of oils in low-water systems.
