What is Ester ETO 7?
Ester ETO 7, with the INCI name PEG-7 Glyceryl Cocoate, is a non-ionic, mild emulsifier and surfactant obtained by ethoxylation of glyceryl cocoate. It is a clear, viscous liquid with excellent solubilizing and wetting properties. Due to its gentle action on skin and hair, Ester ETO 7 is particularly suitable for use in skin care and cleansing products.

How is PEG-7 glyceryl cocoate made?
PEG-7 Glyceryl Cocoate is created by reacting naturally derived fatty acids from coconut oil (glyceryl cocoate) with ethylene oxide. This results in a water-soluble substance with a balanced hydrophilic and lipophilic structure, which makes it excellently mixable with both water and oil. Due to these properties, it is widely used as a co-emulsifier or mild cleansing ingredient.

Ester ETO 7 has a moisturizing, soothing and skin barrier-restoring effect. It leaves the skin feeling soft and smooth and is well tolerated, even by sensitive skin. It also acts as a mild cleanser and foam enhancer, making it a valuable ingredient in shampoos, shower gels and make-up removers. It also helps to improve the viscosity and stability of emulsions.
