How is Ethylhexyl palmitate made?
Ethylhexyl Palmitate is produced by the esterification of 2-ethylhexanol with palmitic acid, a saturated fatty acid found in vegetable fats. The end product is a stable, oxidation-resistant liquid with a pleasant skin feel and a long shelf life, which can be used in a wide range of cosmetic applications.
The function of Ester EHP
Ester EHP acts as an emollient and spreadable ingredient that helps improve skin texture. It leaves the skin feeling soft and supple without leaving a sticky or greasy layer. Thanks to its low viscosity and excellent spreadability, it promotes an even distribution of active ingredients and pigments in formulas. In addition, it contributes to a caring skin feeling in sunscreens, foundations and creams.
