How is PEG-40 Castor Oil produced?
EL 40 is produced by ethoxylating castor oil with approximately 40 moles of ethylene oxide. This results in a stable, highly versatile emulsifier/surfactant that is water-soluble and mixes well with oils.
Function of EL 40
EL 40 is used to solubilize fragrances, oils, and other lipophilic ingredients in aqueous systems. It stabilizes emulsions, facilitates mixing, and enhances product consistency.
