How is cocamide MEA made?
Cocamide MEA is produced by the reaction of coconut fatty acids with monoethanolamine. Coconut oil, which is rich in lauric acid, is the primary source of the fatty acids used in this process. The fatty acids are first isolated and then chemically combined with monoethanolamine, resulting in an amide compound known as Cocamide MEA. This process makes it an efficient and sustainable option for the production of naturally based surfactants.
