Lanolin

Description
Also called wool fat, lanolin is the fat extracted from the sebaceous glands of wool-bearing animals. The wool is washed, after which the water evaporates. Then fat remains. Lanolin is not officially a fat because instead of glycerol esters, it contains only strerol esters.

More about lanolin
Lanolin is water-resistant and protects the skin, making it very suitable for the cosmetics industry. For example, it is often found in lip balm and hand cream. Lanolin can also help soften rough patches or fissures. When breastfeeding, lanolin is used to soothe nipple fissures. Lanolin is tasteless and odorless and has no additives, so it is also not harmful to babies.
When processing wool into other products, the wool must first be washed. During washing, wool grease (lanolin) is released. The wool grease can be seen to the naked eye as small yellow grains or a yellow haze. Once the wool grease is processed, it is called lanolin.

Our possibilities
In addition to being a supplier of a diverse range of oleochemicals and its derivatives, Chempri also is a producer of a large number of esters. These products are made at our very modern production site. We can also customize these products to meet specific customer needs. In addition, we offers the ability to facilitate reaction chemistry for partners. We are open to discuss various types of chemistry, including those outside of oleochemistry.
